Why Us, Why Sardinia?

Join us sailing and freediving in Sardinia, our favourite place in the whole world! We have traveled the globe looking for the best ocean experiences and we have found that nothing matches the vibes, the food and the atmosphere of an Italian summer.

We are going to sail the most beautiful part of the Mediterranean, the place where we met, where we fell in love, the place we have explored for more than 20 years. We are going to welcome you to the place our hearts call home!

Get Freediving certified with us as your instructors! We will have time to teach you the basics and certify you as level 1 freediver.

Program

Arrive in Olbia airport and take our private transfer to the marina, where you will check-in and embark on Nakupenda. Make yourself comfortable, allocate all your stuff in your cabin and get ready to set sail. Before sunset, enjoy the first sailing experience of the week as we make way to our anchorage for the night. Dinner will be under the stars.

The next 5 days will be of pure Mediterranean magic. We will map out or itinerary based on the wind’s whisper, ensuring every moment at sea is true perfection. Our playground? The stunning islands off Sardinia’s North-Eastern coast, from the charming La Maddalena to the majestic Tavolara and beyond. Spending all of our summers here since our childhood, we know all the corners of this beautiful coast, so get ready to discover all of its secrets with us!

Imagine anchoring in secret spots where the waters invite you to free dive into their depths, where rocky cliffs dare you to leap into the azure below, and golden beaches beckon for chill sessions in the sun. We’ll swim where dolphins play, explore cool shipwrecks, and lounge in insanely beautiful natural pools that will make you question the existence of artificial pools!!

Foodies, get psyched! We’re serving up the ultimate Italian feast daily, with fresh finds and authentic flavors.

Every night, we anchor in tranquility, away from it all. Just us, the moon, and a sky full of stars. This is living, Sardinia style.

Make way back towards the marina to check out of the sailboat. Head back to the airport on an organised private transfer.

ONLY 1 SPOT LEFT FOR A FEMALE

Keep in Mind

Note 1: once we leave the harbour on the first day, we will not have other opportunities to access shops during our trip. Please make sure you have everything you need with you once you arrive. We will of course make sure all the food is onboard and we will also have an emergency kit and small pharmacy.

Note 2: charging devices on board can be complicated due to limited access to electricity and batteries. Please bring power-banks to charge your devices and speak to us directly if you need special charging options.

Packing list: the temperatures in Sardinia in summer are very warm during the day but can get pretty chilly at night, especially on the sea.
Also, the sea never gets tropical warm and we will be spending many hours in the water.

  • Layers, layers, layers. During the day it will be warm but at night it will also be chilly. Sardinia is a windy destination so make sure to cover up in the evening. Temperature is subjective, and sometimes we get heat waves, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
  • Comfortable clothes. The sailboat is quite spacious and comfortable, but easy clothing is the best option.
  • Barefoot is good, but if you want to wear shoes onboard we require white-soled shoes to avoid ruining the deck. Also bring flip-flops or sandals for the (few) times we will be on land.
  • Bikinis, board shorts, rash guards…etc.
  • We definitely recommend bringing wetsuits if you own them. For most fun dives a shorty will be good, but for proper freediving you will need a good 3mm suit if you get cold easily.
  • Freediving and snorkelling gear. That means masks, snorkels, fins, long fins, weight belts (we will provide weights) and action cameras. Please let us know if you are missing something.
  • Windbreaker and/or rain jacket. It hardly ever rains in July, but you never know. Windbreakers are also great on a sailboat to handle the periods of sailing.
  • If you own a poncho, we recommend you bring it! We will provide everyone with one set of linens and towels, but a beach towel is recommended if you want one.
  • Shampoo and conditioner (absolutely eco-friendly and reef-safe!!). Please let us know if you need help finding them.
  • Sun screen, reef safe.
  • Mosquito spray (although there shouldn’t be too many while we’re at sea).
  • A waterproof bag to carry essentials whenever necessary. We will be using the small dinghy to move on land during the trip so it would be useful to have your precious items safely stowed.
  • A powerbank to charge your phone and devices, maximum limit for flights is 20.000mAh. There will be a power source but it needs the engine or generator running so we’d love to keep it silent as much as we can.

Requirements

Ocean Comfort

Free diving or scuba diving certifications are NOT necessary to participate, but a very good level of swimming and comfort in open waters is essential to enjoy the experiences. Of course, certification is welcome and training will be based on each individual’s level.

Insurance

A dive insurance is mandatory for this trip, we recommend DAN (find more info here). Travel insurance is not mandatory but recommended.

Gear

Please bring your own gear if you own it (masks, fins, snorkels, wetsuits, cameras, weight belts..etc). We will provide everyone with weights and a freediving buoy with line. If needed we can also organise to provide other missing gear, when duly noted.

Language

It is important for every participant to speak English at a basic level so that we can all have a fun time together without leaving anyone out.

F.A.Q.

You will have to be at the Olbia airport by 4pm of July 20th. Everyone will arrive at the Marina di Portisco to board the boat before sunset so that we may set sail as soon as possible.

You will be back at the Marina di Portisco early in the day so that you may take the private transfer back to the airport around 9am of July 27th.

You only have to worry about getting the flight from your country/hometown to Olbia, in Sardinia, Italy. Once you arrive, you will be greeted by a member of our team. Depending upon arrival times of the whole group, we will organise private minivan transfers to the Marina di Asfodeli to board the boat. It is also possible to arrive to Sardinia by ferry. If you arrive at Olbia, you can take advantage of the included private transfer. If you arrive at other cities in Sardinia, we can help you organise the transfer to the Marina di Asfodeli but you will have to pay for the difference in price.

If there are a sufficient number of requests, we can also organise a fun scuba diving excursion in the area at extra charge. Kitesurfing is also possible if the wind conditions allow it, although we hope for calmer conditions to best enjoy the sailing 😉

Entry requirements are based on European legislation. You can find out more here.

There should be mobile connection throughout the trip, although we cannot guarantee this. However we do not expect any empty zones of connection. Wifi will not be available. The point is to reconnect to nature? 😉

You might want to, although credit cards will be accepted almost everywhere. There shouldn’t be any extra costs either, except maybe souvenirs or similar.

You can either sleep in the front cabins, with double beds and private bathrooms; or you can sleep in the back cabins, with double beds and a shared bathroom, or you can sleep in the smaller bunk-bed room with shared bathroom. All rooms are only available in double occupancy so either you are coming with a friend/partner or you will be sharing the room with someone else. We will carefully choose cabin partners based on sex, age and interests to make this the best experience possible for everyone.

This is a great opportunity then! The majority of our guests are young (<40 years old) solo travellers looking to make awesome ocean friends. We also get couples who are up to have some fun with other like-minded people. All in all, we’ve always had AMAZING groups and EVERYONE has made incredible friendships during our group trips.

Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements prior to the trip and we will do our best to fit your needs.

The full board plan includes 3 meals per day, water and soft drinks. Alcohol will be at an extra cost and upon request prior to the trip. Once we leave the Marina di Asfodeli, it will be hard to go back for some supermarket shopping.
